The Green Oasis

A food forest to work in together

Location: Koedijk

Size: 7 ha

The Green Oasis is an idea from someone who wanted to create a healing garden for the community. An area of 7ha around the N504 was designated via the province. Heavenly Nature was responsible for the layout of the food forest. The area is divided into a north and a south part. The northern part is designed as a 'wild' food forest with a pond, various fruit and nut trees. The southern part has a seating area, a natural bank and various natural structures and gardens made by the volunteers. It is wonderful that the place functions as a connecting element between diverse people and nature.

The Peace Farm

care farm

Location: Egmond aan de Hoef

Size: 3.5 ha

At the Vredeshoeve in Egmond aan den Hoef, 3 brothers run an Alpaca farm. At this Alpaca farm, among other things, training with alpacas is given to achieve these goals. The Alpaca farm will be further expanded and given a new look, complete with renovated buildings and a landscape design that matches this.

Hemelse Natuur has made a sketch design for the Alpaca farm through a workshop. The design is composed of various wishes, including grassy meadows for the Alpacas, a food forest, safety, (community) gardens and a safe environment. In order to gain insight into what can be done in the landscape, a report has also been made that fit in with the frameworks of the policy documents for the landscape.

Schevichoven

Subtitle/Theme: Forest Farming System

Location: Leersum

Size: 20 ha

Website: https://www.schevichoven.nl/

Schevichoven is a regenerative agricultural enterprise in Leersum. Not just any one, but a company that wants to show that regenerative agriculture can also be profitable. Knowledge and methods are used from permaculture, agro-forestry, food forests and agri-tech systems. Producing healthy nutritious products in combination with restoring and maintaining soil health and biodiversity. So that food security can also be safeguarded for future generations. Hemelse Natuur helped to visualize the forestry system and to start up a construction and management system. We worked hard in the first two years to get things going and we will sometimes advise or learn from this initiative in the coming years.

Farmhouse garden

Theme: Ecological garden

Location: Beemster

Size: 0.6 ha

A unique farmhouse has been renovated in the middle of the oldest polder in the Netherlands. The farmhouse has a large garden of approximately 120 x 60 meters, which, together with the renovation, has become one whole, the outdoor living room.

It is important that this garden fits within the framework of the environmental memorandum and the image quality plan. After all, the Beemster is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This includes preserving the openness and historical pattern. The garden should be part

of a series of successive lots, surrounded by canal planting.

The design of the garden, together with these preconditions and the wishes of the users, has been worked out into a design plan. Because various parties are involved, we have made the design plan in such a way that it is readable for everyone. After all, we are the connectors between life in the stollen farm and life in the garden. Sight lines, seasons, top 5 wishes, position of the sun, are parts that we analyze well so that it becomes a garden that is alive.

Royal Tropical Institute

Theme: Community Garden

Location: Amsterdam

Size: 0.7 ha

Website: https://degezondestad.org

With “The Healthy City” we have initiated the design of a communal courtyard garden behind the SDG House in Amsterdam's Oosterpark.

Commissioned by the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), the task was to create support within the SDG community and to ensure that a structure is set up so that common care and responsibility for the garden is guaranteed. At set times people can actually start working in the (vegetable) garden. This offers the opportunity to get out of the head and into the body and experience nature. A garden maintained by the employees raises awareness and community. In doing so, we indirectly meet various sustainable development goals and thus the objectives of KIT and the SDG House.

The most evolutionary record

In the past 2 years we have been able to work on the Evolution Garden of Utrecht University. The first part of the design will be realized this year. The progress of the realization can be followed via the link below.

Tiny House communities

At the moment we see many people looking for other forms of housing. Tiny House communities are examples of where your own building forms can be created. We then design the outdoor space where the Tiny Houses will be located. On the right you see some atmospheric images of projects where dreams are illustrated.

City forest Geleen

The forest square

A demarcated piece in the center with the character of the forest in the middle of the city. A stepping stone in a network of greenery. The Bosplein is a new invention of its kind. It provides many benefits for the city: reduction of heat stress, water collection, biodiversity, collection of particulate matter, CO2 storage and a special experience for residents and visitors of Geleen. Within the Bosplein you enter a completely different world. A place to meet, a moment of peace in the daily hectic, a place to play and who knows, a forest theater.
